4. Type testing
4.1 General
Type testing is designed to verify that an item of equipment possesses all the assigned characteristics specified for it. They are carried out on duly identified representative specimens.
These tests are carried out on a new device and are the subject of type test reports which contain all the information needed to identify the specimen under test and all the information needed to demonstrate :
on the one hand, that the tests were carried out in accordance with the specifications of the standards in force;
that the device has met the requirements of the standards.
