AC, DC, AC/AC, AC/DC, DC/AC

AC alternating current; DC direct current; AC/DC AC/DC conversion; DC/AC DC/AC conversion; AC/AC AC/AC conversion, generally between asynchronous networks or at different frequencies.

Fundamental frequency

The fundamental is often referred to as the frequency of the power distribution network. To take variable-frequency converters into account, it's the frequency from which power is transmitted (simple example: motorizations).

Harmonic frequency

Frequency, integer multiple, of the fundamental frequency.

Interharmonic frequency

Any frequency that is not an integer multiple of the fundamental frequency.
