3. Working groups and standards

3.1 IEC TC13 WG14

Technical Committee TC13, affiliated to the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), was created in 1920 under the name of measuring instruments. With the development of instrumentation, TC13 gave rise to other working groups. TC13's role has been refocused on electrical energy measurement and load control equipment. The aim of TC13 is to :

  • enable the construction of meters suitable for operational conditions;

  • procure foundations for type testing and local approvals ;

  • provide rules for defining and quantifying reliability ;

  • ensure the interoperability of equipment to integrate smart meters into ever-expanding...
