4. Comparative study of various types of regular windings

4.1 Diamond pitch windings

This is the case, for example, with single-layer concentric windings. They are widely used in industry because of their suitability for mechanized insertion. They are characterized by the fact that :

  • each notch contains conductors belonging to a single phase;

  • all notches used for a phase are consecutive per pole.
