2. Key power electronics applications

2.1 Context

Several applications are driving the development of the SiC sector as a whole. They are part of the drive to manage and control energy by reducing losses in energy conversion systems, electrical installations and distribution networks. We will present a few of these applications to illustrate the various possible outlets for SiC power components:

  • power factor correction ;
