4. Magnetic suspensions with passive magnetic bearings
Earnshaw's theorem 2.2 prohibits the construction of complete magnetic suspensions using only passive magnetic bearings. These passive bearings can only be used as components in partial magnetic suspensions, or combined with active magnetic bearings to create complete magnetic suspensions.
