3. Calculation

In this section, we'll look at the different calculation methods for permanent magnet and variable reluctance passive bearings.

3.1 Passive magnetic bearings with permanent magnets

Several calculation methods can be used. The simplest are based on the analytical calculation of forces between parallel bar magnets (two-dimensional analytical calculation). Full expressions are fairly cumbersome to use, but can be simplified in many cases.
