Waves guide; Guide d'ondes
A waveguide consists of a metal tube with no internal object other than the electromagnetic field emission source. Waveguides are generally rectangular or circular in cross-section.
TE modes; TE modes
Transverse electric modes, which may or may not propagate in a waveguide, are characterized by the presence of a single electric field vector contained in the cross-section of the waveguide.
TM modes; TM modes
Transverse magnetic modes, which may or may not propagate in a waveguide, are characterized by the presence of a single magnetic field vector contained in the cross-section of the waveguide.
