11. Conclusion
The problem of the insulation/dielectric function has always been one of the most important for the engineer in charge of designing or operating electrotechnical equipment. Liquid insulators are undoubtedly key to the development of tomorrow's electrotechnical equipment. Since the 1900s, several liquids have been proposed for various applications in electrical engineering. Each type of liquid has its own advantages and disadvantages, and has been or needs to be adapted to a specific application. Table 17 summarizes the main characteristics of each type of liquid and their main applications.
