2. Time simulation applications
Through several industrial case studies, we aim to illustrate how the PEEC method can be useful to the power electronics/electrotechnical designer. This section shows how to obtain a time simulation from geometric modeling, and the method used to generate an equivalent circuit compatible with standard tools such as Spice, Saber, Simplorer, Psim, etc. Several important results for the designer will be derived, such as opening overvoltage and the study of current distribution in parallel components. We propose two case studies: a 200 kVA three-phase inverter designed for uninterruptible power supply, and a 40 kA high-current rectifier used in electrolysis.
