2. Application to overhead line insulators

Insulators for overhead lines are usually divided into two categories. On the one hand, "rigid" insulators used on distribution voltage levels, and on the other, "cap and rod" insulators used in some cases in distribution, but more generally in the extra-high voltage segment .
