3. Construction rules for ATEX equipment
Table 4 provides a link between the old numbering of standards EN 50014 to 28 and EN 50281-1-1 and the new EN 60079 series. The reason for this change is that it was decided within CENELEC TC31 to draw up standards for equipment for potentially explosive atmospheres at international level, rather than at European level where an international standard existed. The numbering adopted is therefore identical to that of the IEC 60079 series of standards.
