2. Mechanisms of Goss texture formation
Grain-oriented electrical sheet (figure 3 ) is characterized by an exceptionally large grain structure, from a few millimeters to a few centimeters depending on the manufacturing process, and by an almost perfect orientation of all its grains, single crystals, in the rolling direction forming a texture known as Goss {110}<001>, also known as cube-on-edge. The <001> axis of the crystal is an axis of easy magnetization of centered cubic iron, which, aligned with the rolling direction, gives GO its excellent magnetic properties in this direction....
