5.1 First approach: we essentially install accumulator batteries
Wind, water and photovoltaic installations produce intermittent energy that is difficult to manage. Battery storage provides a reserve that is theoretically available to local consumers in all scenarios. This approach assumes relatively low investment in renewable energies, at least in the near future. In this case, the 2 × 36 kV network can initially be reduced to a simple Brest – Quimper link in Finistère (see layout B-Q in figure 9 ).
