4. Implementation

4.1 Wall insulation

Walls account for up to 25% of heat loss in a poorly insulated house. Wall insulation is therefore a highly effective way of contributing to energy savings and thermal comfort in the home, by preventing temperature variations.

Walls can be insulated from the outside or the inside.

There are several advantages to insulating walls from the outside:

  • it deals with a greater number of thermal bridges and limits the effects of condensation, thanks to the continuity of the insulation at intermediate floor levels in particular;

  • it preserves the thermal inertia of the walls;

  • it does not alter the living area;
