1.1 General areas of application of the standard
Standard NF P 01-012 applies to the following areas:
railings and banisters (fixed, escalators and, by extension, horizontal or inclined moving walkways);

buildings :
housing,
office space,
commercial,
schools,
industrial and agricultural buildings (premises accessible to the public) and their surroundings;
other establishments open to the public ERP and their surroundings.
