5. Rainwater drainage
There are several ways of collecting and treating and/or discharging the rainwater collected by the gutters, which capture the water falling on the entire surface of the roof.
This water can be recovered and reused later, whether for watering the garden or washing the car or terrace.
Where a public stormwater drainage system exists, connection to it is a legal obligation. Rainwater is evacuated via a separate network from that which carries wastewater. This is the most common collective storm drainage system in use today. Wastewater is redirected to a wastewater treatment plant, while rainwater is discharged into the environment.
