4. Conclusion

The purpose of air conditioning units is :

  • ensure summer and winter comfort in homes, offices, shops and workshops by modifying the air temperature so that occupants do not feel cold or hot;

  • treat the air in specific areas such as precision workshops, operating theatres, computer rooms, etc.

There are many air-conditioning units available to installers, many of them of good quality, but it's important to find out how to obtain spare parts for maintenance, as not all suppliers are equally reliable.

In existing single-family homes, splits powered by an inverter heat pump have been developed, with a preference for room splits over multisplits, which are less economical and less flexible in use. These systems are much easier to install than ducted systems....
