2. Air-conditioning units for cooling or heating purposes

Cold or hot draughts are often associated with air-conditioning; this may be due to incorrect positioning of the air-conditioner, or to the air being blown in too abruptly.

The location of the air-conditioning unit is very important to avoid draughts affecting the occupants. Filters must be cleaned regularly.

In summer, the inside temperature must not be more than 5 to 6°C lower than the outside temperature.

2.1 Direct expansion units

The direct-expansion air conditioner produces cold air by extracting heat from the indoor air, cooling it and discharging it to the outside. The machine's refrigerant circulates through exchangers in contact with indoor air (evaporator) and outdoor air (air-cooled condenser)....
