1.1 Reducing space consumption

The issue of urban sprawl needs to be addressed not only on a global scale, but also on a local one. It is at this level that the control of urbanization must be decided and applied. The excessive consumption of space currently affects any territory located less than an hour from a city center, and the amount of land built up has increased by 16% in 10 years, while the population has grown by only 4%. However, housing development accounts for only 20% of this 16%.
