2.1 Designing a "sustainable" building
An eco-construction project must seek to preserve the existing living environment of the site or neighborhood in which it is located, and even improve it if necessary, for example by revegetating it. The future building must be located, organized and designed in such a way that :
on the one hand, it can take advantage of the site's assets (sunshine, views, relief, natural resources, etc.);
on the other hand, it is protected from any nuisances identified during the site diagnosis: sources of noise, polluted air, electromagnetic waves, polluted soil, etc.
