7. Requirements for engineering approaches to smoke control

As an alternative to quantitative requirements, the characteristics of smoke extraction systems can be determined using an engineering approach.

These characteristics must be such that the smoke extraction objectives set out in article DF1 (§ 1 of [TBA 3 004] ) of the safety regulations are met. Pathways are considered passable, for example, when the following conditions are met:
