3. Reliable power sources
Depending on the type of project, the cost of interrupting the energy supply can be very high.
It is therefore necessary to take into account the reliability of the supply network. If this does not meet the required level, an alternative source(s) must be implemented.
In some cases, it's more economical to set up a generator power plant than to rely on an unreliable and sometimes expensive overhead HV line.
The distribution network operator generally provides statistical information on the quality of its network. Failing this, the following annual values can be assumed:
average number of voltage dips on an overhead MV network: 100 to 150 ;
annual downtime on an urban MV network: 1 h ;
