1.1 Methods
In rotary drilling, a set of interconnected rods rotates a cutting tool. By applying a thrust to this "string of rods", the tool at the end destroys the rock. The choice of cutting tools is crucial, and depends on the rock's hardness, abrasiveness and fracturing.
