9.1 Rehabilitation of old structures
Before any study, a diagnosis of the structure to be rehabilitated must be carried out:
geometric survey of the structure (spans, profiles) ;
general condition (corrosion) ;
search for stability principles ;
investigation of steel characteristics (sampling, testing, possible weldability) ;
search for maximum allowable load-bearing capacity (own weight + overloads) ;
means of assembly.
