2. Prediction of shrinkage-induced cracking

Predicting shrinkage cracking is always a tricky business. It is little addressed in French and European regulations (apart from Eurocode 2 part 3, for reservoir-type structures). A few guides exist at European level (CIRIA, for example, ) and international (JCI, for example, ). Given the complexity of the phenomena involved, a great deal of research is still underway on an international scale.
