5. Documents governing scheduling, control and coordination (OPC)
Standard NF P 03-001 (art. 3.14) gives the following definition of an OPC coordinator:
"A natural or legal person appointed by the project owner to provide site liaison, scheduling, coordination and management services. These services involve analyzing basic construction tasks, determining the sequence of these tasks in accordance with the contractual deadlines set, and harmonizing the time and space of the parties involved at the various stages of the work, from definition and organization of the site, through execution and summary studies, to acceptance operations and the removal of reservations.
The standard goes on to specify that "OPC coordination tasks may be carried out by a contractor, by the prime contractor or by a party external to the prime contractor and the company".
