6.1 Plan général de coordination SPS – Legal and regulatory requirements
General prevention principles must be implemented by any project owner opening a building or civil engineering site (C. trav. art. L. 4531-1 and L. 4531-2).
When the foreseeable workforce on a site exceeds 20 workers at any one time, and the duration of the operation exceeds 30 working days, or when the volume of work exceeds 500 man-days, the project owner must appoint a worker health and safety coordinator, when several companies, including self-employed workers and subcontractors, are called upon to work on the site, either simultaneously or successively, in order to prevent the risk of accidents and, where appropriate, provide for the use of common resources to ensure the safety of all...
