4. Work prior to demolition

4.1 Cleaning or non-structural demolition

As we have already seen, prior to any demolition, the buildings must be cleaned. Similarly, prior to heavy renovation work, mainly on office buildings, fine cleaning is carried out (the finishing requirements are much more stringent than for cleaning prior to demolition).

  • For cleaning prior to demolition, this involves removing materials that will be treated differently from the structure once demolished.

    By way of example, the following have been withdrawn beforehand:

    • false ceilings and floors ;

    • mechanical and masonry partitions ;
