Overview
ABSTRACT
This article deals with the design of joints frequently used in steel-concrete composite frames. It shows how to determine the frictional torque and rotational stiffness of joints, emphasizing the basic components that should be added to those in steel joints. A classification of the joints by strength and stiffness should also be related to the type of global analysis of the frame so that appropriate modeling of joints can be defined. Finally, two worked examples are given for illustration purposes.
