5. Conclusion

Relatively detailed and precise formulations have been developed in this article to enable limit state design of isostatic or continuous composite T-beams for buildings. These formulations respect the principles and application rules of EN 1994-1-1, its National Annex and the other ENs referred to in EN 1994-1-1. The application of all these different rules is intended to be relatively easy and operational, at least for the usual cases of building beams, as demonstrated by the various calculation examples discussed at the end of this article.

For any engineer wishing to take advantage of the benefits of composite construction, mastery of beam dimensioning is the basic knowledge required before tackling other aspects of this type of construction. All the more so as, in practical terms, it has to be said that, in France, we are still often limited to the simple creation...
