  • Composite member

    Structural element comprising concrete and structural or cold-formed steel elements, joined together by connection to limit longitudinal slippage between concrete and steel and separation of these elements.

  • Connection; shear connection

    Connection between the concrete and steel elements of a composite member, with adequate strength and stiffness to allow these two elements to be calculated as part of the same structural member.

  • Composite behaviour

    Behavior appearing after the connection has reached its efficiency due to the hardening of the concrete.
