4. Conclusion
This article is intended as a general introduction to mixed steel/concrete construction, illustrating the different ways in which this type of construction can be implemented and its advantages in building, including increased rigidity and strength of steel frames, improved fire resistance, and the ability to build quickly with virtually no scaffolding.
Some concepts may have been put forward just to avoid imprecision in certain statements or numerical values (slab participating width, section class, connection dimensioning, overturning stability, global linear and non-linear analysis, geometric second-order effects, etc.), but these concepts will find their deepening in the following articles on beams, columns, connections and framing.
