Treatment options
The diversity of functions demanded of concrete (mechanical strength, shape, color, waterproofing, durability, protection against reinforcement corrosion and ease of maintenance) has led designers to develop a whole range of surface treatment processes for concrete facings and walls. All these methods can be used to promote one or more functions, depending on the environmental conditions and how the structure is to be used.
To this end, three main avenues can be envisaged :
direct use of raw demoulding surfaces ;
