1. Construction applications

There are many applications for bonding in the construction industry, which can be classified into several types to help understand how they are used.

  • The oldest and simplest techniques are for gluing decorative coverings such as wallpaper, plastic flooring, carpets and decorative laminate veneers. With these techniques, a covering is glued over its entire surface; the risks of delamination are low and pose no danger to others; the durability requirement is only 10 or 20 years, as these coverings are changed regularly. We currently benefit from 50 years' experience in this type of bonding.

  • Then, 35 years ago, cement-glues (in powder form) and adhesives for tiles, ceramic coverings and stone were introduced to replace traditional cement laying.
