6. Types of glues, adhesives and sealants used in the construction industry

6.1 Neoprene (or polychloroprene) adhesives

These are solvent-based Neoprene rubber adhesives, with 18-28% solids content, viscosities ranging from 300 mPa · s to 8,000 mPa · s, highly flammable before drying due to the high solvent content.

  • Implementation

    They are always used for contact bonding.

    • Installation

      The adhesive is applied to each of the two materials to be joined (double gluing), using a brush, squeegee or pressure gun.

    • Consumption

      It is around 130 to 160 g/m 2 on each side, depending on the roughness...
