1.1 Assembly modeling in EN 1993-1-8
To model the behavior of bent connections, Part 1-8 of Eurocode 3 (EN 1993-1-8) uses a new concept: the component method. This consists in breaking down the assembly into elementary components (bolts, plates, column web, etc.) and then combining their influences in the overall model (see figure 1 ).
