1. Regulations, basic functions and standardization

1.1 Regulations

In view of their role in building enclosures, windows are covered by a number of regulations, not all of which have the same scope:

  • Laws, decrees and orders whose application is mandatory for the field of application.

  • Texts drawn up on a consensual basis by all the professionals concerned: standards and Unified Technical Documents (DTU). Their application is mandatory for constructions in which the State is directly or indirectly involved (through a financing subsidy, for example).
