2. Main requirements

The main requirements for window closures are taken from product standard NF EN 13659. For specific performances, reference is made to other standards which support this reference document.

2.1 Intrinsic" characteristics

Intrinsic" requirements relate to characteristics for which, a priori, all window and door closures can be assessed. Minimum performances are not necessarily required for all characteristics: classifications are sometimes defined to enable product comparison.

The NF EN 13659 standard covers a wide range of features. Only the main requirements are presented in this chapter.
