Article 4 of the decree of September 7, 2009 setting out the technical requirements applicable to non-collective sanitation installations specifies that black water can be treated separately from household wastewater in the case of rehabilitation of existing installations designed according to this method.
In this case, the black water is pre-treated in a septic tank and treated in accordance with the provisions of the decree. If technically impossible, black water may be directed to a chemical tank or watertight accumulation tank, subject to authorization by the municipality.
