3. Buried walls

3.1 Basement walls. Special case of masonry used as a basement

    • foundations are designed to avoid differential settling due to water ingress, which would lead to cracking that could compromise the foundation's functions, particularly waterproofing: the corresponding cracks would be of a much greater amplitude than usual coatings could withstand;
