4.1 Water treatment plant
Before the faecal matter is admitted to the wastewater treatment system of a wastewater treatment plant, it may be necessary for it to undergo various more or less advanced treatment stages, depending on the proportion of COD in the plant's incoming COD load. Figure 5 shows the various stages of septage treatment.
