3. Storage area before treatment
A sewage sludge reception unit must be set up to receive and control the trucks bringing in the sewage sludge.
A system for identifying emptiers (by badge, for example) must be put in place.
It is very difficult to control the origin and nature of these materials.
Grease, pebbles, hydrocarbons and solvents are frequently present, which can lead to malfunctions or pollution in treatment units, or in the area where these materials are spread (agricultural reclamation).
This reception unit must consist of three successive stages: pre-treatment and two separate pits in series (an unloading pit and a storage pit) (see figure). 4
