Electrical installations are subject to various regulations, which can be classified according to the ministerial authority from which they derive.

The main regulations applying to buildings are as follows:

construction: decree of October 22, 1969: compliance of new buildings with standards NF C 14-100 (Connections to the public low-voltage network) and NF C 15-100 (Low-voltage electrical installations) ;
work :
- Decree 2010-1016 of August 30, 2010 on employer obligations for the use of electrical installations in the workplace,
