8.1 Fireplaces of light

The idea of creating specific ducts to carry light makes it possible to serve premises with no access to the outside. Figure 36 shows the case of a renovation project in the canton of Geneva, in which a light shaft was used to illuminate a section of the premises located more than 9 metres from the nearest façade. The square-section flue is 90 cm wide. It is lined with anodized aluminum.
