7. Solar protection

The discrepancy between performance on a sunny day and that observed on an overcast one calls for the use of "corrective" elements known as "solar protection".

Let's take a look at the "risks" associated with natural light, which can be addressed by these sun protection elements.

  • Glare hazard

    This is particularly a concern when the sun is low on the horizon, i.e. in winter, or at the beginning and end of the day. The risk of glare arises from excessive differences in luminance values in the field of vision.
