8. Corrosion protection

The most important standard is NF P 24-351, which defines all obligations in terms of corrosion protection. It applies to aluminum, steel and hardware.

The standard defines indoor or outdoor, direct, protected or ventilated, polluted or aggressive environments or atmospheres... It refers to the different types of coating:

  • aluminum: anodizing ;

  • aluminium or steel: powder coating, liquid painting, pre-painting ;

  • steel: EZ (electro-galvanized), bichromate, hot-dip galvanizing, metallizing, PPRZ (zinc-rich powder primer), PLRZ (zinc-rich liquid primer), cataphoresis, stainless steel.
