10. Bulletproof – Explosion

10.1 Bulletproof

There are several European standards defining tests and classifications for resistance to weapons fire. This applies to both facades and glazing. Aluminium profiles can be designed in 2 ways:

  • steel reinforcement of 6 to 8 mm or more to stop the ball;

  • increase the aluminium partitions and the thickness of the outer part (15 to 20 mm of aluminium mass), thus slowing down the speed of the ball as it enters the profile.

In France, CEBTP is generally in charge of these tests.
