3. Essential parts

A typical sales refrigerator consists of three main components: the structure, the refrigeration units and the fittings.

  • Structure

    It consists of a thermally insulated envelope, usually made up of "sandwich" panels with steel or composite facings, between which a rigid polyurethane insulating foam with an average density of 35 to 40 kg/m 3 is injected.

    This thermally insulated enclosure forms the cabinet's carcass. This carcass is generally reinforced by internal and external metal parts, enabling the cabinet to withstand the numerous mechanical stresses caused by transport, installation and loading with foodstuffs without permanent deformation (figure 1...
