The NH 3 – H 2 O binary mixture differs strongly from the H 2 O-LiBr binary mixture, enabling cycles to be designed for different applications as there are no longer any limits towards low temperatures. This makes industrial refrigeration units accessible. In addition, the absence of crystallization enables operation with large temperature differences between condensation and evaporation, which is invaluable for air conditioning.
